Penn State LaunchBoxes accepting applications for 2024 Idea TestLab

SHARON, PA – Entrepreneurs will have a chance to learn and test out their ideas at the 2024 Idea TestLab, sponsored by the Shenango, Harrisburg, Mont Alto and York LaunchBoxes.

Applications are being accepted now through January 23, 2024, for this free, four-week, virtual accelerator designed to help very early-stage entrepreneurs determine the viability of their business idea. It is important to note that, even though the stated application deadline is January 23, interested individuals should apply as soon as possible as admissions are rolling and applications will close as soon as the cohort is filled, which could be earlier than January 23, 2024.

No affiliation with Penn State is required for participation, and any Pennsylvania-based entrepreneur is welcome to apply.

The Idea TestLab comprises four weekly online classes and one-on-one coaching support. Classes will be held virtually on Tuesday evenings in February 2024, from 6-8 p.m.

As part of Idea TestLab, individual participants or teams will meet with customers, experts, and competitors in order to clearly define their target customer and the value their business can provide for them. Additionally, program participants will build entrepreneurial skills through structured programming that moves ideas from concepts to a viable business plan.

In addition to the valuable programming, resources, and coaching, participants will have the opportunity to be considered as preferred applicants for Mont Alto LaunchBox’s LION Tank pitch competition, held the week of March 18-22, 2024. Participants may also be eligible for additional grant funding through the NSF iCorps Microgrant Program upon completion of the program.
